I do hope that your family make the most of what our school has to offer and look forward to seeing you throughout the year. Please feel free to come in and look around the school or join us in many of the events and open days we run throughout the year.

I am usually available at the start of the school day if you have any questions or queries about Brandhall. Alternatively you can give me a call on 0121 422 5336 or contact me by email at "Elaine.Fitz@brandhall.sandwell.sch.uk" (Elaine Fitzgerald - Headteacher).

Governors' Update

Following our recent HMI monitoring inspection the governors are pleased to be able to tell you that:

* senior leaders and governors are taking effective action to tackle the areas requiring improvement
* the school's self-evaluation is now rigorous and supported by robust evidence
* A key strength of the school is the willingness of established staff to support new teachers
* Governors have worked extremely hard to develop their skills rapidly

We will continue to work hard on the actions identified by Ofsted and our own self evaluation including:

* developing staff in consistent application of school policies for effective teaching and learning
* measuring success against pupil outcome
* increasing attainment in reading and writing
