Mrs S McVeagh

Mrs J Evans

Miss B Maher

First of all we would like to say a huge welcome back and we hope you all had a lovely Christmas Break!

The History focus for Spring term in Year 6 will be Aztec Civilisation.

We would like all children in Year 6 to join our ‘SATs Club’ this year.  It runs on a Wednesday and starts straight after school.

The club is designed to promote your child’s confidence and attainment, whilst developing test skills for the upcoming SATs in May 2019.

The club will start on Wednesday 16th January 2019 and the last session will be Wednesday 8th May.  There is no club on 20th March.  SATs club is straight after school until 4pm.

A letter has been sent home with each child with full details regarding SATs club.  Click link below to access the letter:

Weekly Homework

Homework for Year 6 children will be located in their new yellow homework books or practice SATS books. This homework will include: English, Maths and Spellings.  We will set this homework on a Friday, to be completed and brought into school for the following Wednesday. Homework will then be reviewed within class. Children will having a spelling test every week on Friday so make sure you practise them all week!

Planners and Reading

Children are to bring their planners to school everyday and take them home every night. Children are to read at least 3 times a week at home and have their planners signed by an adult to show this – every week please.

Could we also ask that children take off any jewellery before school on Mondays, including any earrings that they may wear regularly. Year 6 P.E will take place on Monday afternoons. Children should have: a white top, black shorts or joggers and black pumps. (Black trainers may be worn on the field, however, black pumps are more suitable for the school hall.) P.E lesson may take place on the school field or in the school hall, depending on the weather, for the duration of this term. Year 6 P.E lessons will be focusing on Uni-hoc, Dodgeball and Gymnastics.

Just a reminder that all Year 6 children will be starting Bikeability in the summer term, so now is the time to start planning to buy/borrow a bike for your child.
