Financial Education
We believe that it is never too early to start learning about money and how to manage our needs and wants. We are working with Young Enterprise, a financial education and entrepreneurship charity, to become an accredited Centre of Excellence for our financial education provision.
Our Vision:
We aim to develop children's financial knowledge, skills and understanding, enabling them to make informed financial decisions. Children will know that finance isn't just about money; it affects happiness, health, work and relationships. They will be able to make informed financial decisions and succeed in the modern world.
Our Mission:
To promote financial capability and discussion around money in a safe environment through a series of progressive units of work. Financial education is present across the curriculum and taught explicitly in each year group from Y1 to Y6.
Through our enrichment and personal development programme we aim to link financial education with wellbeing and career education, raising aspirations and an awareness of the world of work.
Our Programme:
We follow the Young Enterprise Financial Education Planning Framework which offers a structured and progressive plan setting out key areas of financial knowledge, skills and attitudes across 4 key themes:
-
How to manage money
-
Becoming a critical consumer
-
Managing risks and emotions associated with money
-
Understanding the important role money plays in our livesLink to Young Enterprise website; https://www.young-enterprise.org.uk/what-we-do/our-programmes/financial-education-planning
