Brandhall Primary School

Reading for Pleasure

In Preparation of World Book Day

Our school council have been conducting a survey with pupils to find Brandhall Primary's most loved books and authors. Favourite authors included the likes of Liz Pichon, Michael Morpurgo, Hannah Gold and Roald Dahl. Favourite books included the Harry Potter series, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Who Let the Gods Out?

Some of our favourite stories are linked under our 'Parents' tab, read by some very familiar faces!

We'd love to hear some book recommendations and reviews from the children, please send these in to k.foley@brandhall.sandwell.sch.uk.

We would also like to say a huge welcome to our new, parent volunteer readers:
Helen, Sarah, Danielle, Steph and Chantelle.

Our volunteers and staff will also be based in our school library on Thursdays, after 3:15pm, for parents to help their children change their 'reading for pleasure' book. It's a great opportunity to talk to your child about reading and the books that they like to read. Please enter via the library doors by the allotment.

Would any parents be interested in a book swap for adults? If so, we could set this up to also take place on a Thursday and this would be great to model your enjoyment of reading to your children!
